Shiitake Mushroom Pasta: A Comforting, Flavorful Dish

This pasta dish highlights the rich, umami flavors of shiitake mushrooms, creating a comforting and satisfying meal. Simple yet flavorful, it’s perfect for both weeknight dinners and casual entertaining.

Ingredients:

  • 200g pasta (any type you prefer)
  • 150g shiitake mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the shiitake mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes until they become tender and slightly golden.
  5. Toss the cooked pasta into the pan with the mushrooms and garlic, mixing well to combine all the flavors.
  6. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  7. Finish with a generous sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
